Expansion Church is a place where you can meet Jesus, find your people, and become who God created you to be.
What began five years ago in Fort Pierce has grown into a diverse family of people from different backgrounds, generations, and stories—all learning what it looks like to follow Jesus in everyday life.
Week after week, we see people discovering faith, finding freedom, building meaningful relationships, and taking their next step with God. And while a lot has changed since those early days, the heart of Expansion hasn’t.

Our Leaders
Meet Rock + Shell
Pastor Rock and Sheterica “Shell” Cain are the founders of Expansion Church and share a heart for helping people experience Jesus in a way that transforms everyday life.
Their story began long before Expansion Church. Rock and Shell met on the Highest of Seven Hills at Florida A&M University (FAMU), where a friendship became a relationship, and eventually a marriage, family, and shared calling to ministry.
Years later, that calling would lead them to plant Expansion Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Launched as an ARC Church Plant, Expansion was built with a vision to create a church where different people, with different stories and from different backgrounds, could find a place to genuinely belong.
What began as a vision has grown into a thriving church family committed to helping people Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Their Design, and Expand Their Impact.
Together, Rock and Shell lead Expansion with a passion for building people, strengthening families, developing leaders, and creating space for the next generation. Their approach to ministry is simple: love people well, teach truth in a way people can live out, and never stop making room for those who haven’t arrived yet.
They’ve been married for more than 20 years and are the proud parents of Rock Jr. and Amari. When they’re not leading Expansion, they’re doing life together as a family, dreaming about what’s next, and probably laughing about something only they find funny.
And through it all, their heart remains the same: to point a broken world to a loving God and make room for more people to experience Him.

Beyond Our Walls
We love our city, and we believe love should show up in action. In 2025, we had the opportunity to serve alongside local organizations making a meaningful impact throughout our community, including:
- Treasure Coast Food Bank
- Graceway Village
- Boys & Girls Club
- Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County
- The City of Port St. Lucie
Jamaica
We completed our first global missions trip.
Kenya
We provided 9,600 meals to school children, and we’re believing to double that in 2026.
